A Good Day For Die Hard
There is something special about getting something published. It doesn't matter if you are making a zine on a Xerox machine or having it printed by a professional printer, having it in your hands brings a smile to the face.
All the hours of work. All the writing and rewriting. The tinkering with the layout to try and get things just right. Figuring out the art style you want to use and trying to make pieces work with the design. It is a grind, solo or as a team.
I am a solo operator, so trying to cram that all in four times a year can be frustrating at times. Even lonely.
But then, you get the finished product in your hand and you are ready for the next one because it feels so good to finish something like this.
This issue is late to the party, but it is my most ambitious magazine to date. Unlike previous magazines, it has one article, a sprawling adventure for the Torchbearer RPG across 52 pages. Inspired by the movie Die Hard, it places the adventures in the role of John McClain, trying to make sense of who the invaders while trying to save their loved ones.
Only, the tower is the headquarters of an order of necromancy using fanatics who built their power base on top of an ancient evil that is stirring because of all of the commotion. You got twelve turns to figure it all out.
If you aren't interested in subscribing, you can order an individual copy. All profit from the newsletter get donated to the Trevor Project at the end of the year during the various match drives.
Yggdrasil MGZ, Issue Four
The fourth issue of Yggdrasil MGZ is one massive adventure for the Torchbearer RPG. Imagine if Die Hard was set in the tower headquarters of necromantic zealots standing on the grave of an ancient evil and you are John McClain!
