Agrat
“Relax. That isn’t it. Just some wolves on the prowl. Nothing for us to worry ‘bout up here.”
“This is your first time on the tower, right? Yeah I was jumpy too. Course, I saw I that first night right out, so had a reason to be jumpy.”
“They told you ‘bout it right? Big as a damn pony. But quiet. Not like our dogs, all howling and yipping. No, silent as the… was as something silent any road.”
“You know the old heads claim it don’t move alone. No, not more of the damn things. Can you imagine? A pack of pony dogs wandering the world? Fucking end of us, believe you me.”
“No. The old heads swear that the black dog has a pack, but a pack of souls. People he’s killed, chained to him. Like, he got sick of being the dog and decided he was going to be the master. Hell of a thing right?”
“Yeah, he don’t howl and bark. No, it is when it gets quiet you gotta worry. When the wolves slip off and the birds and bugs shut the hell up. Wind even seems to stop blowing it’s so quiet. That’s when you worry.”
“Here, have a sip. Nothing to worry ‘bout on the watch save the occasional vagrant trying to get into town. So long as you hear the beasties making noise, you will be pretty much ok. Keep your eyes sharp for a bits of reflection. Vagrants always got a knife bare. But they make noise, so no trouble a thrower can’t put down.”
“See, when I was your age, maybe a week after I seen the black dog out on the hills over that way, we got hit with a pack of vagrants. They were a bloody mess. Ole Ham said he thought they run into the dog and these fools were so crazed with fear they tried to climb the walls with their bare hands.”
“Turkey shoot. Not one had a chance. I remember just lining up my long… What?”
“Shit. You’re right. It did get awful quiet.”

Agrat relishes the fear and torment that he visits upon isolated communities. His is not a leader in House Ghabegh, and it is unclear if he even knows that is what he is a part of. Some scholars speculate that he may have actually of been some form of canine when the Madness struck, and his form and function simply the manifestation of his inhuman starting point.
When using Agrat in a game, he works well as a reoccurring threat. His bound spirit hunters can operate without him being within the immediate vicinity, allowing for lots of back and forth between the adventurers and the menace out in the hills.
