Amekah

Dris, I need you to get out of here. I don’t care how, but don’t talk to anyone and get out of here.
Amekah

“I don’t have much time. She knows I am on to her, so I am going to try and make this quick.”

“No, don’t interrupt. Just listen. Listen to me Dris! You must!”

“Belikek is dead. So is Nan.”

“No, I don’t care if you saw them an hour ago. That wasn’t them. Do you understand?”

“Please you have to listen to me. Something is happening and it isn’t them! LISTEN!”

“Ok. Ok. Yeah, I will explain… But I have to be quick. They aren’t the only ones and I know they are on to me.”

“Two days ago, something changed. I don’t know what, but people I ran into at the market just weren’t right. Cold. Aloof.”

“Something was… Is dead in their eyes. Nan noticed it too. We ran into each other at the market…”

“We found Belikek, and he was… Well, you know those feelings he gets? He got one of those.”

“So we followed Hendlee, cause we all know him and he was acting weird too… Wait.”

“Ok, I don’t think they heard me… Some of them walked by… Shit. I don’t have much time.”

“So yeah, we followed him… He went to his house, and through the window we could see… This is going to sound crazy… But we saw two of him… The one we followed and one tied down and gagged.”

“But he saw us and we ran. I thought we got away, but… But we didn’t…”

“Dris, I need you to get out of here. I don’t care how, but don’t talk to anyone and get out of here.”

“Talk to no one. Just leave. Shit, I hear something…”

“What?”

“What do you mean you will be right here… Oh… Oh Tree no…”

~ From a recording of a sending found in the now abandoned town of Okso Nas

Amekah of House Sonegh is consumed with the desire to make the world “right” by replacing everyone with a “better” version of themselves. There is some evidence that prior to the Madness she was some form of researcher, which may explain her constant need to experiment to discover which version of mortals if “perfect.” It is also believed that she has never been banished, and so sits high in the inscrutable hierarchy of the 500 and One Names.

When using Amekah in play, she serves as the catalyst for an Invasion of the Body Snatchers oriented game. For an urban adventure, you can use the following method to see if she has replaced someone by rolling a D6. For the first roll, a 1 means that person has been replaced. For each subsequent encounter with that person, increase the odds by one (2 of 6, 3 of 6, etc.) Eventually no one will be left, and the adventurers will be in a real pickle.
